Morning at Marion Bay

Marion Bay beach is a beautiful place that allows dogs to run free on the beach.

Django, sporting the latest in sandy moustaches

Driving away from the beach I spotted this heron in the creek.

In Boomer Bay the swans were enjoying the sun

as were these birds at the Boomer Bay jetty.

The Demise of My Favourite Tree

Remember this tree:
This beautifully symetrical and photogenic tree was snapped by many photographers.
Here, Jodie Richardson captures it at twilight.
and Robert Todd snaps it at sunset.

Then in January, the bush fires went through and my lovely tree didn't come through unscathed.
           Unfortunately it lost some limbs.

Imagine how I felt when I drove passed it today to discover that it had been chopped down.
I wonder if the other photographers will feel as sad as I do over the demise of our beloved tree.
As a postscript, Robert Todd wrote the following:

Ode to an old friend.

oh old tree, laying in pieces down in the field,
we will remember you, when you stood tall,
not covered in leaves, no none at all !
just grace of your old branches shooting up
into the blue sky and standing so tall.

Night Experiment

I have been experimenting with night photography in the hopes that I will be able to sometime soon be able to capture the southern lights which have been rather prolific this year. Here the moon was going down and leaving a lovely trail across the sea. Shame about the power line across the picture. I might have to go to the beach to avoid them but its a bit scary there at 1a.m. on a wintery night.

Autumn Interloper

I was trying to take a photo in my garden of the leaves and the garden seat, when Django jumped up on the seat and wanted to be a star.

I Went On An Adventure Today

I went into a dark, dark forest.

Passed a still river.

I saw moss dripping in water, feeding the fungi.

I saw a hole in an old tree and wondered what was inside.

Under the canopy of tree ferns, I found a strange growth.

Then I heard the water rushing, I walked around the corner in the path and there it was. Beautiful Russell Falls.

G'day

This guy had a crush on me, the day I came across him when I visited the park at Cygnet. He followed me everywhere.

All A Flutter

Look to the left!                                         Yesterday, when I was out on my deck, trying to catch a photograph of the 3 dolphins that were playing, I gave up, as those creatures are too tricky to capture. So I spotted this little bird up in my gumtree. He was easier to capture.

Look to the right!

Getting ready for take off!
