My Easter Explorations

Had a great time exploring the Tasman Peninsula again. It is stunning. Parts of the peninsula have been affected by the January bushfires and there has been a push to get tourist back in the area to help out the local businesses. Well I am pleased to say that over the Easter period, tourists came out in droves. I have never seen the peninsula so busy.

A sign in a paddock as I was driving out of town today. Great advice, I feel!

I'm Liken the Lichen

Here in Tasmania, particularly on the East coast, bright orange and yellow lichens grown on the rocks at the beach. If I see rocks like this, I can immediately place it to a certain area. I stumbled across this one this week during a walk.

Look What Sailed Right Past My Front Door!

Visiting my northern house, just spotted the Notorious head past the door. My neighbours thought we were being invaded by the pirates. I had been aboard this ship a few weeks ago when it was at the Hobart wooden boat festival. Now its heading to the Launceston one.

Screaming Jets

Out walking yesterday I was passed over by these two jets. There was also a nifty private jet that flew over but didn't capture that one.

There's Boots and Then There Are Boots

Spotted when out and about. I bet the young lady who was wearing them, doesn't get any grief from ANYONE!

Moonlight at the Boat Ramp

Tasmania is known for its exquisite displays of Auroras and last night was such a night. I went to photograph it but when I got to the boat ramp the moon had risen, therefore taking away any colourful Aurora, so I shot the moon and the reflection on the water instead. Maybe another time for the Aurora.
